Parents as Partners

Children start their learning at home, where parents are their first ‘teachers’ and Woodlands recognises the importance of working in partnership to support each unique child.

When children start at Woodlands they are assigned a member of staff to be their ‘key person’. His/her role is to build a strong relationship with the family and help the child settle and become familiar with Woodlands.

We have a structured communication plan which includes half termly newsletters and parents’ evenings in the autumn and spring terms. We operate an ‘open door’ policy for parents and are always ready to discuss any aspect of your child’s progress at a convenient time.
